Personal Details:

Born 10 March 1958. Photography, sport shooting and motoring are among his hobbies. Married, two children.

Education:

Graduated from the Czech Technical University in 1983.

Professional and Public Activity:

After graduating from university he worked in various positions in the capital construction section. In 1991, on the basis of a competition he became the director of a company. In 1993 he joined the company Phar-service s.r.o. as its director and partner. This company was transformed into a stock company, and he held the position of chairman of the board and general director. After his nomination for minister he transferred his share to in the company to his son.

In 1994 he joined the ODA party, where worked on an expert commission in the area of health care and in the business section. Since 2002 he has been a member of the European Democrats. In the 2002-2006 period he was a representative of the Prague 10 city council and a member of its finance committee. Currently he is a member of the Věcí veřejné [Public Affairs] party, where he serves as an expert in the area of economics and health care. He is a member of Věcí veřejné's Council and the chairman of the Věcí veřejné club in Prague 10.
