Statement by Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka marking the death of Boris Nemtsov

It is with sorrow that I received the news of the violent death of Boris Nemtsov, one of the foremost figures in the Russian political arena of the past two decades and a leading advocate of democratic values and the protection of human rights. I strongly condemn this crime. The assassination of Boris Nemtsov must be properly investigated and the perpetrators duly punished. I would also like to express my sincere condolences and sorrow to his family and the bereaved.
