This department was closed effective 31 December 2009.

Workers in the department prepared and realised the concept and strategy for media coverage and promotion of the Czech presidency and prepared factual base materials for the selection of suppliers. At the same time it ensured work with the media and the evaluation of feedback in the media and in public opinion. The department also was in charge of the logo of the presidency, the content and regular updating of the presidency's web page, www.eu2009.cz, which was one of the most important communications tools for the presidency.

Workers in the department updated the content of the pages on the presidency on the Office of the Government's website, and cooperated with other Czech and foreign partners on the realisation of media coverage and promotion of the presidency abroad with the Foreign Ministry of the Czech Republic.
