Terminology Database

The Office of the Government of the Czech Republic has made public a terminology database for the purposes of the Czech Presidency of the EU Council. The database aims at unifying the official names of all units within the Czech public administration in English, French and German. The database, which is accessible in the Lotus Notes environment or on the Internet, is intended for Czech civil servants and the general public.

In the preparatory phase and during the EU Presidency itself, the database will be continuously expanded with new glossaries related to the Presidency and its topical events. The Office of the Vice Prime Minister for European Affairs is responsible for the project.

Correct, unambiguous and consistent communication is a significant part of a unified presentation of the Czech public administration, not only during, but also after the Czech Presidency.
