Extraordinary Visegrad Group Summit Aimed at Resolving the Migration Crisis to Be Held in Prague on Friday

An extraordinary summit of the prime ministers of the Visegrad Group countries will be held in Prague in the afternoon on Friday 4 September 2015. The summit has been convened today by Czech Premier Bohuslav Sobotka to tackle the current migration crisis. Ewa Kopacz, Robert Fico, and Viktor Orbán, the prime ministers of Poland, Slovakia, and Hungary, respectively, have confirmed their attendance at the event.

"The main purpose of the extraordinary summit of V4 countries that will be held in Prague this Friday is to issue a joint declaration on the course of action V4 countries will take with regard to the current migration crisis in Europe," explained the Czech premier.

The extraordinary summit has been convened by Sobotka, the highest representative of the Czech Republic, the country that currently holds the presidency of the Visegrad Group.

Program

  • 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. – Media arrival through the information entrance
  • 2:40 p.m. – Photo session following the arrival of prime ministers to the Straka Academy garden
  • 2:55 p.m. – Family photo
  • 3:00 p.m. – Photo session on the launch of the extraordinary summit
  • 5:00 p.m. – Press conference of V4 prime ministers (The time may change depending on the duration of the talks)
