Jan Fischer presented composition of the caretaker government

The caretaker government presented by Jan Fischer at a press conference will have 16 members.

„I presume that the President will appoint the Government on Friday afternoon. I am glad that the relatively long period of negotiating its composition is at its end, and that the new Cabinet will be able to assume its duties,”, said the Prime Minister designate Jan Fischer at the press conference.

Composition of the caretaker government:

Jan Kohout will take the office of Deputy Premier and Minister of Foreign Affairs,

Martin Barták will be appointed Deputy Premier and Minister of Defence,

Eduard Janota will become Minister of Finance,

Štefan Füle will be appointed Minister for European Affairs,

Martin Pecina will lead the Ministry of the Interior,

Daniela Kovářová will take the office of Minister of Justice,

Dana Jurásková will head the Ministry of Health

Miroslava Kopicová the Ministry of Education,

Michael Kocáb retains the post of Minister for Human Rights,

Ladislav Miko will be appointed Minister for the Environment,

Gustáv Slamečka will lead the Ministry of Transport,

Petr Šimerka takes the office of Minister of Labour and Social Affairs,

Vladimíř Tošovksý will be appointed Minister of Industry and Trade,

Jakub Šebesta will lead the Ministry of Agiculture

Václav Riedlbauch the Ministry of Culture.

The President of the Czech Republic will appoint the Government on Friday 8th May.
