On Monday 26 August 2019 Prime Minister Andrej Babiš attended a meeting for the heads of the Czech Republic’s diplomatic missions. The Prime Minister opened the meeting with a speech, which was followed by a discussion.

At the meeting for the heads of diplomatic and permanent missions, the Prime Minister thanked the ambassadors for their work and their excellent representation of the Czech Republic abroad. “The positive trend in foreign trade is supported by institutions in the Czech Republic and our missions abroad. I would like to thank all of you for working to strengthen friendly relations, enhance the Czech Republic’s good reputation and provide services for Czech companies in the countries you work in,” the Prime Minister said in his introductory speech.

In his speech the Czech Prime Minister called on ambassadors to remember to communicate with local media as a regular part of their daily work. By doing so ambassadors can help to create a positive perception of the Czech Republic, and they can present the opportunities our country offers. “For our work abroad, I would like to continue to unify our representation through agencies that promote trade and investment, incoming tourism and Czech culture,” said Prime Minister Babiš on the unified representation of the Czech Republic.

Andrej Babiš also talked about the government’s Innovation Strategy of the Czech Republic 2019–2030 and the related National Artificial Intelligence Strategy and the TREND programme for industrial and experimental development. The latter programme has CZK 10 billion of funding available. The Prime Minister highlighted an important part of the Innovation Strategy, namely the introducing of a new brand that the government wants to start using: Czech Republic – The Country for the Future. “We want to present the Czech Republic as a technologically advanced and innovative country, with smart people, clever solutions and a bright future,” the Prime Minister said.
