Prime Minister Babiš Honours Holocaust Victims in Auschwitz
On the 75th anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz concentration camp, Prime Minister Andrej Babiš and other statesmen attended a commemoration event commemorating the victims of the Holocaust. The commemorative ceremony was attended by the top representatives of more than 30 countries. During the commemoration event, the survivors of the concentration camp spoke with the message. “The speeches of the survivors were very emotional. The commemorative ceremony in Oświęcim was about those who survived. The most important speech for me was that it did not come from heaven, what happened here, that we must not be indifferent,” said Andrej Babiš.
Polish President Andrzej Duda also spoke to the participating. In addition to the message of the survivors, the commemorative ceremony also included a common prayer or symbolic lighting of the candles at the victims memorial.
