On Wednesday, 18 March, in the evening, Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka met with Czechs employed in EU institutions.

The meeting was preceded by talks between the prime minister and Czech European Commissioner Věra Jourová about increasing the number of Czech citizens in EU structures. The prime minister emphasised that the Czech cabinet's pro-European stance was not reflected only in its approach to topics, but also in communication with those representing the Czech Republic. This is also one of the reasons why in February the government approved a strategy to support Czechs serving in Brussels institutions, which the prime minister presented at the evening meeting. At the close of the meeting, Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka thanked those present for their work so far in creating a positive image for the Czech Republic in Brussels, and he ensured them that the Czech government would provide systematic support.
