On Tuesday, 24 November 2016 the Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka attended the celebratory meeting of the Czech-Israeli Chamber of Commerce on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of its foundation. The Prime Minister appreciated especially the twenty years of active work of the Chamber, which is also one of the longest-functioning Chambers of Commerce in the Czech Republic.

During its 20-year history the Chamber helped not only the multilateral development of mutual trade between the Czech and Israeli organisation but also contributed to the development of the Czech Republic-Israeli cooperation in the field of science and research; and in the last period the substantial commitment in the dynamically-developing joint activities of Israel and the Czech Republic in the field of cyber security.

"I regard the activities of the Czech-Israeli joint Chamber of Commerce as fundamental from the point of view of deepening of interpersonal contacts between Israel and the Czech Republic. I would also like to acknowledge the social role that the chamber assumed within the framework of annual granting of the Arnošt Lustig Award. The winners of this award remind us year on year that it is necessary to defend humanist values and to fight for our ideals," stated Prime Minister, Bohuslav Sobotka.
