Prime Minister Sobotka met the Administrative Board of the Czech-German Fund for the Future

On Tuesday, 13 June 2017, Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka took part in a meeting of the Administrative Board of the Czech-German Fund for the Future. The Prime Minister attended the regular meeting in relation to this year’s 20th anniversary of signing the Czech-German Declaration, based on which the Fund was established.

Along with members of the Administrative Board, Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka discussed the individual projects financed from the Fund. Since 1998, the Fund has provided approximately EUR 54 million for 9,500 projects that bring Czechs and Germans closer together. These include in particular projects focused on youth and schools, culture, science, restoration of monuments, social support and more. The Fund also arranges activities of the Czech-German Discussion Forum.

In May 2016, Bohuslav Sobotka Government decided that a total of CZK 270 million would be gradually released for the Fund’s activities in 2018–2027. In addition, the German Government will earmark EUR 25 million in the same period.
