The Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka meets in the Straka Academy with the Speaker of the Parliament of the Kingdom of Sweden
The Czech Republic has long-established and excellent relations with Sweden and both countries have an interest in their ongoing development. Cooperation takes place in particular in the field of trade and investment and defence and security with the Czech Republic and Sweden also sharing many common stances within the European Union. There is a continued effort to further bilateral relations also in the wider format of meeting of the Nordic, Visegrad and Baltic countries.
"I am pleased to note that the Czech Republic-Swedish relations develop successfully in all areas and in the future we plan to deepen these relations even more. I am very pleased that we confirmed the excellent levels and willingness to further deepen our mutual relations with Prime Minister Löfven last week at my business visit to Sweden where we agreed on the principles that we will continue to implement,” said Prime Minister, Bohuslav Sobotka after the meeting.
An important element of bilateral relations is cooperation on inter-parliamentary level. In the Swedish Parliament there is a Swedish-Czech Friendship grouping; in the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Republic operates a Group of Cooperation Czech Republic- Nordic States.
