On Tuesday 27 August 2019 Prime Minister Andrej Babiš inducted the new Minister of Culture Lubomír Zaorálek, who had at one time headed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. His induction followed the appointing of this new member of the government by President Miloš Zeman.

Today the Prime Minister inducted the new Minister of Culture Lubomír Zaorálek. The two men agreed that the ministry’s priorities must include the ongoing renovation of the cultural heritage and increasing the funding for culture.

“The most important point we put forward, and this is something we also talked about with the minister and the President, is of course the renovation of the cultural heritage. Our work is going well. We have a fantastic National Museum, in January we’ll be opening the State Opera, we’ve started work on Invalidovna, and we also have plans for the National Gallery and the Imperial Spa. We also talked about how to present the Czech Republic abroad, and about projects that have given us an excellent reputation internationally. The minister has plenty of experience of such matters, and in this respect we share the same views. I congratulate the minister and wish him good luck,” the Prime Minister said at the Ministry of Culture.

The induction of the new minister was preceded by his appointing by President Miloš Zeman at Prague Castle, which was followed by the minister’s inducting at the Ministry of Culture in the Nostitz Palace.
