Israeli Foreign Minister To Be Received Czech Prime Minister

On Wednesday, May 30, 2007, Prime Minister Topolánek of the Czech Republic will receive Israeli Deputy Premier and Foreign Minister Tsipi Livni.

The Czech Premier and Tsipi Livni will discuss primarily the current political and security issues relating to the latest stage of the peace process but also the overall situation in the Middle East with accent on developments in Iran and Lebanon. The Czech Republic participates in the shaping of the Joint Foreign and Security Policy towards Israel, which is - as the only democratic country in the Middle East - the European Union’s strategic partner in the region. Both sides will also discuss ways to strengthen international security, fight terrorism, and promote democracy.

The meeting will be held in the Office of the Government of the Czech Republic, at nábřeží E. Beneše 4, Prague 1, beginning at 2:30 p.m.
