Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam To Pay an Official Visit to the Czech Republic

On September 12 and 13, 2007, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam will pay an official visit to the Czech Republic.


A welcoming ceremony will be held in the garden of the Office of the Government of the Czech Republic after the arrival of the Vietnamese delegation in Prague. Czech Prime Minister Mirek Topolánek and his Vietnamese counterpart will then open their private talks to be followed by negotiations between the two delegations.

The two Prime Ministers as well as the two delegations will discuss primarily economic issues - trade and investments in particular. Their talks will also focus on power generation and mining, the infrastructure, the building industry, education, culture, multilateral issues, and fight against terrorism.

4.30 p.m. - welcoming ceremony, garden of the Office of the Government of the Czech Republic, nábřeží Edvarda Beneše 4, Prague 1
6.00 p.m. - signing of bilateral agreements
6.10 p.m. - press conference, Office of the Government of the Czech Republic, nábřeží E. Beneše 4, Prague 1
7.30 p.m. - dinner function, Lichtenštejnský palác, U Sovových mlýnů 4/506, Prague 1
(during the evening both Prime Ministers will sign a visitors´ book and will see performance of the Čtyřlístek folk ensemble)

Journalists are requested to arrive at least 20 minutes before the event.
