State Security Council Meeting To Be Attended by President V. Klaus

President Václav Klaus of the Czech Republic will attend tomorrow´s session of the State Security Council (SSC).

The main items on the agenda of the SSC meeting include a report on the current issues concerning the North Atlantic Alliance and the European Union in the security sector, and an analysis of the possible scenarios of further developments in Kosovo with a view to their security impact on the Czech Republic.

Council members will be briefed on continued developments around the location of one element of the anti-missiles defence in this country, on the legislative and technical-organizational measures aimed at simplifying and streamlining the system of the protection of classified information and security qualification in the Czech Republic, on a directive unifying the principles for the selection of defence infrastructure objects, and on a list of objects that could be attacked during an emergency or the state of war.
The SSC meeting will be held in the Office of the Government of the Czech Republic, nábřeží Edvarda Beneše 4, Prague 1, on Tuesday, November 6, 2007 beginning at 9.00 a.m.
