If you want to work for the European institutions…

On Thursday, February 21st 2013, a seminar organized by the Eurocentre Prague took place in the European House. The event entitled “If I want to work for the EU institutions…” was organized within the framework of the European Year of Citizens 2013. Natalie Šťastná from the European Parliament – Information Office in the Czech Republic provided a brief summary of form and content of selection procedures organized by the European Personnel Selection Office (EPSO). A speech, subsequently delivered by Marie Staszkiewicz, who had successfully passed the whole selection procedure, was devoted especially to introduction to living and working conditions of the EU employees. She also mentioned several interesting remarks about life and work in Brussels. Both speakers pointed out that to work for the EU does not necessarily mean to work for the three main institutions and is not limited to Brussels. There are several other Union institutions in other cities, such as the European Central Bank in Frankfurt am Main, the European Court of Auditors located in Luxembourg or more than thirty EU agencies in various Member States.
