The fourth round table focused on the support of industry in the EU

The Office of the Government organized the fourth round table within the framework of the National Forum on the Future of the EU, this time in cooperation with the Committee on EU Affairs of the Senate. With the participation of members of the upper chamber of the Czech Parliament and the European Parliament Member Richard Falbr, the present representatives of state administration, employers´ associations, trade unions and eminent industrial enterprises focused on two types of questions; possibilities of more effective support of the Czech industry including the pro-growth measures bound to the European budget and ensuring the affordable energy sources.The State Secretary Vojtěch Belling reminded that for the effective maintenance of Czech interests on European level it is mainly necessary to debate the national positions between appropriate state departments and industrial sphere ontime. During the discussion, the Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Milan Hovorka and Director of the Industry Section Eduard Muřický cited practical examples of branches where it was managed to effectively defend the national position also on European level. Several participants critically evaluated the accessibility of energy sources - distortion of the internal energy market and absence of economic return of investments in this field negatively influence the potential of the industrial development not only in the Czech Republic.
