Comments from Prime Minister Sobotka on the results of the French presidential election

The victory of Emmanual Macron is a positive signal, not only for France, but for the whole of the European Union including the Czech Republic, for which a functional Eurozone and the further stable development of the EU are important. The voters of France have made it clear that they reject nationalism, populism and the isolation of their country. Most voters have opted for a president who will represent a modern and open France. That France which is a proud state that has laid the foundations for integration and is an important engine for the future continuation of European collaboration.
