The Committee for the European Union passed Czech positions on new EU proposals

The 122nd meeting of the Committee for the European Union at government level took place on 16 January 2013. The Committee discussed the Commission proposal of a revised directive on tobacco products. The primary responsibility for further negotiations lies in hands of Ministry of Agriculture in close cooperation with other relevant Ministries and authorities according to their respective competences. The Committee also approved a position on the above-mentioned revised directive that will provide guidance for the upcoming negotiations.

Furthermore, the Committee approved a position on the proposal for a Council Recommendation on Establishing a Youth Guarantee. The Committee was also informed about the extraordinary meeting of the Foreign Affairs Council to take place on 17 January 2013 to discuss the recent developments in Mali.
