The Office of the Government kicks off the preparation of the National Reform Programme of the Czech Republic 2013

The Office of the Government kicked off the preparatory work on the National Reform Programme of the Czech Republic 2013. A round table organized in the Prague Liechtenstein Palace on 17 December 2012 officially launched the process.

Among those who were invited and attended the event were the representatives of the relevant line ministries, of the European Commission, partners of the social dialogue, academia, regional and local associations, and various stakeholders.

The main objective of the round table was to present and discuss a preliminary draft structure of the National Reform Programme 2013 and to exchange views on further steps in implementing the European Semester in the Czech Republic.

The National Reform Programme 2013 will be closely linked to the implementation of the International Competitiveness Strategy for the Czech Republic 2012-2020 and to other strategic Government documents with the overall aim to support economic growth, strengthen competitiveness and thus contribute to job creation. It will also be fully compatible with the implementation of the cohesion policy.

The participants were invited to take an active part in the preparations and to send their comments and inputs. The Office of the Government will continue in the tradition of open and inclusive consultations with a series of round tables to be held in January 2013 focusing on the individual chapters of the National Reform Programme 2013. Further discussion is envisaged with the view of finalizing the document so that it could be adopted by the Government and presented to the European Commission by mid-April 2013.
