Condolences of Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka to Prime Minister of Bavaria Horst Seehofer

Your Excellency,

I was deeply moved when I learned about the terrible event in Munich. I strongly deplore this murderous attack on innocent people which took place at a shopping centre. We must not be threatened by those who try to spread panic. We must fight together against terrorists and fanatics.

At this difficult moment, we stand by your side in solidarity and compassion, not only because of close and friendly relations between the Czech Republic and Bavaria, but also because of the necessity of maintaining our common pan-european identity.

Please convey my deepest condolences to the families of those, who were killed and injured,  on behalf of the Government of the Czech Republic.
