Prime Minister applauds Constitutional Court ruling

Czech Prime Minister Jan Fischer welcomes today’s ruling by the Constitutional Court which rejected a proposal from a group of senators to repeal an amendment to the Acts on the Rules of Procedure of the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate of the Czech Republic.

The amendment introduces a “binding mandate” and is linked to the Lisbon Treaty, which is intended to reform the way the EU is run.

“I applaud the today’s ruling by the Constitutional Court because it clears the way for the completion of the ratification process for the Lisbon Treaty,” said Prime Minister Jan Fischer.
