Prime Minister Babiš will attend celebrations of the 30th anniversary of the Velvet Revolution

On Sunday, 17 November, Prime Minister of the Czech Republic, Andrej Babiš, will attend celebrations of the 30th anniversary of the Velvet Revolution in Prague and in Bratislava. He will give a speech as part of the ceremonial programme at the National Museum in Prague.

Together with V4 Prime Ministers and President of the German Bundestag, Wolfgang Schäuble, the Czech Prime Minister will take part in the ceremonial programme on the 30th anniversary of the Velvet Revolution in the National Museum, he will see the exhibition Velvet Revolution and will attend the opening of the multimedia exposition Moments of the 20th Century.

At noon, the Czech Prime Minister will host a ceremonial lunch at Kramář's villa. Apart from Prime Ministers of Poland, Slovakia and Hungary and the President of the German Bundestag, it will be attended by President of the Czech Chamber of Deputies, Radek Vondráček, and Prime Minister of Saxony, Michael Kretschmer.

In the evening, Prime Minister Babiš will participate together with his Slovakian counterpart, Peter Pellegrini, in celebrations in Bratislava, where he will lay a wreath at the monument Gateway to Freedom at Devín. Then, he will hear a ceremonial concert on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of November 1989 in the Slovakian National Theatre.

On the national holiday of 17 November, the Office of the Government of the Czech Republic will open to the public the Hrzán Palace at Hradčany and the Liechtenstein Palace at Kampa in Prague. The gates of both palaces will be open for visitors from 9:00 till 17:00.
