Prime Minister Jan Fischer Accepts CC Decision with Satisfaction
Prime Minister of the Czech Republic Jan Fischer accepted with satisfaction the Constitutional Court’s decision that the Treaty of Lisbon complies with the Czech constitutional order.
Prague, 3 November 2009—Prime Minister of the Czech Republic Jan Fischer accepted with satisfaction the Constitutional Court’s decision that the Treaty of Lisbon complies with the Czech constitutional order.
“The last obstacle has been overcome and nothing now prevents ratification,” said the prime minister, reacting immediately to today’s ruling by the Constitutional Court in Brno. Fischer expects that President of the Republic Václav Klaus will now append his signature to the Treaty of Lisbon.
