Prime Minister Sobotka discusses the mutual cooperation and the future of the EU with Danko, the Chairman of the Slovak National Council

Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka met in the Straka Academy on Monday, 25 September 2017, with the Chairman of the National Council of the Slovak Republic, Andrej Danko. Mutual bilateral relations and European Union issues were the main topics of the dealing.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Sobotka spoke with Chairman Danko about the recent joint meeting of the Czech and Slovak governments in Lednice, the cooperation of both countries in the field of defence and transport and preparations for the joint anniversaries in 2018, i.e. the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Czechoslovak Republic and the fiftieth anniversary of the Prague Spring and the events of the year 1968. 

Cooperation within the Visegrad Group and the Slavkov format was also the topic of the meeting. Together they also discussed the future of the European Union and the strengthening of European security and defence.
