Prime Minister Sobotka received the French Minister of Armed Forces and Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs
During the joint meeting, the partners praised the extremely strong bilateral Czech-French relations and the achievements of the Czech-French Strategic Partnership. They expressed their mutual interest in continuing these relations and the further strengthening of the Czech-French dialogue.
The topics discussed also included joint defence and security co-operation, which has gained momentum over recent years. The Prime Minister also discussed the potential for further strengthening of Czech-French economic cooperation with the French ministers. European topics were also included in the subject-matter of the meeting, such as the future of the EU and Brexit negotiations. France’s participation in the planned celebrations for the 100th anniversary of the founding of Czechoslovakia was also addressed.
