On Monday, 30 July 2018, Prime Minister Andrej Babiš introduced the Minister of Labour and Social Affairs, Jana Maláčová, into her office, and on the same day, the Czech President Miloš Zeman formally appointed her and authorised her to manage the department.

The Department of Labour and Social Affairs is the largest in terms of budget spending: it represents almost 45 percent of the state budget expenditure. As part of our programme statement, there are major challenges, such as pension reform. The President also invited us to address the Hospice Care Act,” Prime Minister Andrej Babiš said, adding that the topic would also include a contribution to housing, and address the lack of workforce and the issue of single mothers.

Jana Maláčová has taken over the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs from Petr Krčál.
