April 17, 2008: Premier To Attend the Opening of the Safe Containing Coronation Jewels

On Thursday, April 17, 2008 at 5:00 p.m. Czech Premier Mirek Topolánek will meet the other six holders of the keys before jointly opening the coronation chamber in the St. Wenceslas Chapel of St. Vitus Cathedral in Prague. They will open the chamber to give access to the safe containing the Czech coronation jewels.

Once again, after a five years´ break, the public will have an opportunity to view the individual items of the collection - St. Wenceslas crown, orb and sceptre - on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the establishment of the independent republic.
