Czech Prime Minister To Hold Talks with Bavarian State Interior Minister

On Wednesday, September 12, 2005, Prime Minister Mirek Topolánek of the Czech Republic will have a working meeting with the visiting Bavarian State Interior Minister Günther Beckstein.

Their talks will also be attended by Czech Interior Minister Ivan Langer.
The main topics under discussion will be, inter alia, the issues relating to the information campaign on the Czech Republic’s entry into the Schengen space, police co-operation between the Federal Republic of Germany and the Czech Republic within the context of the enlargement of the Schengen space, abolition of border control and co-operation in the fight against organized crime.

A press briefing, planned for 11.30 a.m. and attended by Czech Prime Minister Mirek Topolánek, Bavarian State Interior Minister Günther Beckstein and Czech Interior Minister Ivan Langer, will be held in Office of the Government of the Czech Republic, nábřeží Edvarda Beneše 4, Prague 1.

Journalists are requested to arrive at least 15 minutes before the event.
