January 9, 2008:Czech Government Meeting, Press Conference at 1:00 p.m.

This week’s Czech Government meeting to be held on Wednesday, January 9, 2008 at 9:00 a.m. will be preceded by a session of the Committee for the European Union.

Government Ministers will be discussing, among other issues, the following topics:
- draft amendment to the Road Tax Act
- draft amendment to the Waters Act
- draft amendment to the Act on the circulation of seeds and seedlings of cultivated plants
- analysis of the effectiveness of the Free Access to Information Act
- Government report on the adoption of legislative obligations ensuing from the Czech Republic’s EU membership for the year 2007
information on the process of optimizing the Czech Republic’s current security system
- Draft National Programme on the preparation for ageing for the period 2008-2012
- proposal to set up a subsidiary company of Èeské dráhy, a.s. (Czech Railways) for passenger transport.
