June 2, 2008: Unique Exhibition “People Like Us...“ Opens to the Public

On Monday, June 2, 2008 Czech Premier Mirek Topolánek will be attending the official opening of an exhibition called “People Like Us...“ This display, tracing the destiny of the people affected by the communist coup in former Czechoslovakia in 1948, was installed in Prague’s Straka Academy, the official seat of the Czech Government. Starting on June 3, 2008, the exhibition will now be opened to the public at Café Mlýnská on Kampa Isle. This remarkable display has been prepared by the Office of the Government of the Czech Republic in conjunction with the civic association Post Bellum. The official preview of the exhibition will also be attended by several surviving contemporaries and political prisoners whose portraits are on display.
