March 13-14, 2008: Spring Session of the European Council

A delegation of the Czech Republic, led by Prime Minister Mirek Topolánek, will attend the regular spring session of the European Council. The Czech delegation also includes Deputy Premier for European Affairs Alexandr Vondra and Finance Minister Miroslav Kalousek. The leaders of the EU member states will be meeting in Brussels between March 13 and 14, 2008.

The European Council will open its meeting by launching a new cycle of the renewed Lisabon Strategy for growth and employment. Other topics under discussion will be primarily macroeconomic stability of the European countries and approach to state investment funds, international security, climate changes and energy policy.
