March 21, 2008: Working Visit to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam
Between March 21 and 23, 2008, a Czech Government delegation, led by Premier Mirek Topolánek, will be visiting the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
The purpose of this working visit is to promote the long-term above-average mutual relations of the two countries, primarily in the economic sphere. The year 2007 saw a considerable rise in the volume of Czech exports to Vietnam. Several agreements on Czech-Vietnamese trade cooperation will be signed during the forthcoming visit.
The programme of the Czech delegation’s visit to Vietnam on Friday, March 21 is as follows:
a wreath-laying ceremony at the Monument to Fallen Heroes in Hanoi;
meeting with Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung of the Socialist Republic od Vietnam;
talks with Tran Bac Hae, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Vietnamese Bank for Investments and Development;
opening of a business forum;
signing ceremony of bilateral trade agreements;
meeting with Nguyen The Thae, Chairman of the People’s Committee of the City of Hanoi;
reception by Vietnamese President Nguyen Minh Triet.
