May 13 - 18, 2008: Official Visits to the Republic of Cape Verde, Colombia, Peru and the Republic of Mali

On Tuesday, May 13, 2008, Czech Prime Minister Mirek Topolánek leaves for an official visit to the Republic of Cape Verde for talks with Premier José Maria Neves on economic cooperation and some other topics. An agreement on the prevention of double taxation will also be signed. Other issues under debate will be the major stabilizing role played by the Republic of Cape Verde in the region and cooperation with the EU and NATO in security matters. Mirek Topolánek will also inaugurate a meeting of businessmen from both countries and an exhibition on the history of the Czech comic strip. After reception by President Pedro Pires, to be held on Wednesday, May 14, the Czech Government delegation, led by the Premier, will leave for Colombia. Its official visit to Colombia will include a meeting with President Álvaro Uribe Vélez and other Colombian officials on Thursday, May 15. On the following day - Friday, May 16 - Mirek Topolánek will be heading the Czech delegation at the summit meeting EU-Latin America in Lima. The last stop on the tour will be a visit to the Republic of Mali. On Sunday, May 18, the Czech Prime Minster will meet President Amadou Toumani Touré and Premier Modibo Sidibé of Mali.
