Meeting of the Premiers of the Visegrad Group Countries

On Monday, June 18, 2007, Prime Minister Mirek Topolánek of the Czech Republic will attend official summit of the Prime Ministers from the Visegrad Group countries in the Slovak capital Bratislava.

The Prime Minister of the Portuguese Republic will be an official guest of the summit. During the V4 meeting Slovakia will hand over presidency of the V4 to the Czech Republic. As part of the summit’s foreign policy agenda, the gathering will discuss the issues of the institutional reform of the European Union, Policy of European neighbourliness, especially visa-a-vis countries of Eastern Europe, questions of energy security, preparation for the Czech Republic’s presidency of the European Council and possible cooperation among the V4 member countries during that presidency, the problems relating to the entry of the V4 countries into the Schengen space, issues of the European Monetary Union, and further proceedings of the Coalition for Visa Equality in the matter of the Visa Waiver Programme.
