November 17, 2008: Prime Minister To Commemorate November 17

17. listopadAs part of the Day of Struggle For Freedom and Democracy in the Czech Republic, Prime Minister Mirek Topolánek will be visiting the localities in Prague that witnessed some of the dramatic moments in the struggle for democracy 19 years ago.


The Premier will begin the day by delivering a speech and laying wreaths at the commemorative plaques on Hlávka Hostel, later laying flowers at the commemorative plaque marking November 17, 1989 in Národní Avenue. During the day, the Premier will also honour the Day of Students´ Struggle For Freedom and Democracy in Wenceslas Square, and lay a wreath and deliver a speech at the memorial “RUZYNĚ 1939-1941 NEZAPOMENEME“. 

9:00 a.m. - speech by Premier Mirek Topolánek – Hlávka Hostel 
10:10 a.m. - laying flowers at the commemorative plaque marking November 17, 1989
in Národní Avenue 
10:25 a.m. - commemorating The Day of Students´ Struggle For Freedom and
Democracy in Wenceslas Square 
11:00 a.m. - laying wreaths at the memorial “RUZYNĚ 1939-1941
NEZAPOMENEME“
