October 31, 2008: Czech Premier To Meet the French President
On Friday, October 31, 2008, Czech Prime Minister Mirek Topolánek will meet French President Nicolas Sarkozy at the Elysee Palace in Paris.
The meeting is held at the invitation of the French President as part of preparations for the Czech Republic to take over presidency of the Council of the European Union after the French presidency in January 2009.
President Sarkozy wants to meet the Czech Prime Minister for consultations on topics relating not only to the Czech presidency but also to the current financial crisis and the forthcoming informal EU summit to be held in Brussels next week.
