Preview of an Exhibition by Academic Painter Boris Jirků in Strakova Academy

Today, on Tuesday, September 18, 2007, Prime Minister Mirek Topolánek of the Czech Republic opens an exhibition of paintings and sculptures by academic painter Boris Jirků, held in the Office of the Government of the Czech Republic.

For several months now, the premises of Prague’s Strakova Academy (seat of the Czech Government) will also serve as an exhibition hall featuring works depicting the author’s impressions from his travels and presenting his free work created over the past fifteen years. Also on display are romantic sculptures by this academic painter, one of the most distinguished contemporary Czech artists. To date, Boris Jirků, who is known to devote himself to free painting, prints, illustration and book graphics, has received many awards for his works.

With this exhibition the Office of the Government opens a series of exhibitions by contemporary Czech artists in the Strakova Academy.

Prime Minister Mirek Topolánek will open the preview of the exhibition in the Office of the Government of the Czech Republic, nábřeží Edvarda Beneše 4, Prague 1 at 5:00 p.m.
