Prime Minister to Attend Days of People of Good Will

On Wednesday, July 4, 2007, Prime Minister Mirek Topolánek of the Czech Republic will attend Days of People of Good Will, held to mark the country's national holiday in Velehrad, a South Moravian place of pilgrimage.

Part of the celebrations will a two-day conference on the topic Soccer and Ethics, which opens on Tuesday, July 3 and which is held under the auspices of the Archbishop of Olomouc Jan Graubner. The Premier and other participants of the conference will discuss ways of seeking positive elements in sport, soccer in particular, for people’s behaviour and methods for eliminating various negative phenomena related with sport.

The conference and the follow-up Evening for the People of Good Will will also be attended by State Secretary – Prime Minister – of the Holy See Cardinal Tarcisio Bertone who will meet Czech Premier Mirek Topolánek on Wednesday afternoon.
