April 24, 2008: Premier Mirek Topolanek Met the Chairwoman of the New Zealand´s Parliament, Ms Margaret Wilson

During the meeting with the Chairwoman of the New Zealand´s Parliament, Ms Margaret Wilson, the Premier M. Topolánek discussed the possibilities of strengthening mutual collaboration between the two countries. Today, in the afternoon, the Chairman of the Cabinet, Mirek Topolánek, has met the Chairwoman of the New Zealand´s Parliament, Ms Margaret Wilson. Among the main themes of the bilateral negotiations belonged the presentation of priorities of Czech Presidency in the Council of Europe and problems of future enlargement of the Union. Both parties agreed on the necessity to strengthen mutual investments of the Czech Republic and New Zealand, co-operation on the markets of third countries and support of science and research. The theme mentioned as the last one represents a new stage of co-operation between the Czech Republic and New Zealand. The Premier M. Topolánek also expressed his great interest in opening of the Embassy of New Zealand in Prague. In the present time both countries celebrate the 50th Anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations which took place on September 5, 1958.
