Jiří Nekovář graduated from the Faculty of Production Economics of the University of Economics in Prague. He has been a member of the National Discussion Group on Tax and of the Expert Group of the Ministry of Finance for income and property taxation. He has experience both from the public and private sectors.

At the present time he is a private businessman in the field of consultancy (tax, economic issues, auditing and asset valuation). He holds a number of prestigious offices - he is the President of the Confédération Fiscale Européenne and Vice-Chairman of the Czech National Accounting Council. Among other institutions, he is also a member of the Coordinating Committee of the Minister of Finance for tax and international professional institutions.
