Premier: China Summit could take place in the Czech Republic

Prime Minister Jiří Rusnok attended a summit in Bucharest of 16 countries from Central, Eastern and South-eastern Europe and the People's Republic of China.

In his speech the Prime Minister expressed the interest of the Czech side in hosting the summit in 2014, on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Czechoslovakia and the People's Republic of China. Next year in Prague could see the establishment of an association covering the regions of China and the countries of Central, Eastern and South-eastern Europe. "We also offered, and it was in the final conclusions which were announced here, that we will continue the tradition of a Chinese investment forum in autumn next year in Prague", said Prime Minister Rusnok .

The summit in Bucharest aims to deepen cooperation of states in the region with China, especially in trade and investment. The meeting follows on from last year's meeting, which took place in Warsaw using the same format.

In addition to the Czech Republic and Romania, the summit is being attended by the following European countries: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Montenegro, Estonia, Croatia, Latvia, Lithuania, Hungary, Macedonia, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia and Serbia .

In addition to the plenary meeting of prime ministers, Prime Minister Jiří Rusnok met bilaterally with his counterparts in the People 's Republic of China, Romania and the Republic of Albania.

A parallel economic forum for representatives of companies and chambers of commerce was part of the Summit.
