Marian Jurečka

From 29 January 2014, Minister of Agriculture, from 5 December 2017 in resignation.

Personal details

Ing. Marian Jurečka was born on 15 March 1981 in Přerov. He is married and has four children.

Education

He graduated from the Mendel University of Agriculture and Forestry in Brno, Department of Plant Medicine (specialisation in plant protection) in 2005.

Professional and public activity

From 2010 until November 2013, he worked as the Head of the Agricultural Chemistry Division in Agro 2000 s.r.o.

From 2005 until 2010, he was the Head of the Agricultural Chemistry Distribution Centre for Lukrom spol. s.r.o.

He has worked on the family farm in Rokytnice since 2002.

From 2007 until 2009, he was an advisor to the Minister and Chairman of the Government Legislative Council for the field of agriculture and the environment. He also worked as an advisor to the Minister for Regional Development. He was a member of the Committee for Development of Tourism attached to Olomouc Regional Government.

Between 2008 and 2012, he was a member of the Committee for Rural Development attached to the Council of the Olomouc Region. Since 2012, he has been a councillor for the Olomouc Region and Chairman of the KDU-ČSL (Christian and Democratic Union – Czechoslovak People’s Party) group of councillors.

In 2012 – 2013, he worked as a member of the Committee of the Regional Council for the Central Operational Programme Central Moravia
