Dan Ťok

Personal information

Ing. Dan Ťok was born on 4 March 1959, and has two children.

Education

He graduated from the Brno University of Technology, Faculty of Engineering – Department of Thermal and Nuclear Machinery and Equipment.

Profession and public activities

From 1983-1992 he worked as a design engineer for steam boilers in První brněnská strojírna, a.s. From 1992-1996 he worked as the Director of the Boiler Division in ABB První brněnská strojírna, s.r.o.
From 1996-1999 he served as Chairman of the Board and Managing Director of ABB Energetické systémy, s.r.o.
From 1999-2003 he served as Regional Director of ALSTOM for the Czech Republic and Slovakia and Managing Director and Chairman of the Board of Directors of ALSTOM Power, s.r.o. From 2003-2006 he was Chairman of the Board and Business Director of Jihomoravské plynárenské, a.s.
From 2006-2007 he was Managing Director of KKCG Industry B.V. responsible for the strategic development of Kovosvit MAS, Kovosvit a.s., ŽDB Group and Bonatrans Group and the further expansion of KKCG Industry B.V. From 2008 to 2014 he served as Chairman of the Board and Managing Director of Skanska, a.s.
He was also a member of the Scientific Board of the Brno University of Technology, the Regional Business Chamber in Brno and President of the American Chamber of Commerce.
On 4 December 2014 he was appointed Minister of Transport.
