Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka responds to information relayed by the Polish daily Gazeta Wyborcza

There is no basis to reports in Polish newspapers that the Polish Prime Minister has raised grievances in a telephone call. The Let My People Live event held in the Czech Republic, organised and financed by the European Jewish Congress with the backing of the Czech Government under the auspices of, among others, the President of the European Parliament, Martin Schulz, is in no way intended to compete with remembrance in Poland. The same holds true for the acts of remembrance that are to take place in Terezín (Theresienstadt) and at Prague Castle. In this respect, we wish to draw attention to the Terezín Declaration on the Holocaust, which was supported by 49 countries in 2009. A Czech delegation will naturally also be attending the remembrance event in Auschwitz, Poland.
