The Prime Minister Joined Czech and Bavarian Businessmen to Discuss the Development of Cooperation

The program of the second day of Premier Sobotka's official visit to Bavaria focused on cooperation in the area of research and development and support for trade and investment. The Prime Minister also met with representatives of the Bavarian State Parliament.

On Friday 11 March 2016, the Czech Premier opened the Czech-Bavarian Expert Seminar, where the topic was cooperation on science and industrial development. Organized by the Munich Chamber of Industry and Trade and the Chamber of Crafts for Munich and Upper Bavaria, the event was attended by experts and Czech and German entrepreneurs who debated ways of transferring the outcome of research and development into practical applications and subsequently placing the results on the market.

In the Bavarian State Parliament, the Czech Prime Minister met with the institution's President Barbara Stamm. During a meeting with social democratic deputies, the Czech Premier awarded the Karel Kramář Medal on Honorary Chairwoman of the Seliger Association Olga Sipplová to honour the lifelong endeavour and persistence with which she has promoted democratic values and friendly relations between Germany and the Czech Republic.

In the second half of the day, the Prime Minister visited the Ludwig Bölkow Business Campus in Ottobrunn, where a Memorandum of Understanding was signed in his presence by CzechInvest and Anwendungszentrum Oberpfaffenhofen with the aim to promote cooperation on the establishment of incubators of the European Research Agency in the Czech Republic.
