Deputy Prime Minister Bělobrádek in talks on business opportunities for Czech firms in Miami

The Czech Deputy Prime Minister for Science, Research and Innovation Pavel Bělobrádek met with the Beacon Council on Monday, 21 March 2016 in Miami; Beacon Council is a public and private non-profit agency working to support the business climate of Miami and Dade County, to talk about business opportunities for Czech firms in Miami. The main focus of these talks centred on potential cooperation in the aviation, banking and ICT sectors.

Miami is, after the New York City, the second largest financial services centre on the East Coast of the United States, and a city hosting the centre for high-speed data exchange between the Americas and Europe. “We are primarily interested in expanding cooperation in areas of focusing on innovative technologies and excellent research. Florida, with its space and aviation industries, as well as with the electronics-related and sophisticated science and technical incubators, represents a very interesting partner for the Czech republic,“ said the Deputy Prime Minister.

The Florida governor Rick Scott also expressed his support for development of Czech-American business relations while meeting the Deputy Prime Minister; The Florida governor also serves as the head of the ‘Enterprise Florida’ organization whose main focus is to support export and investment in Florida. Florida Enterprise played a large role in making Florida the 4th best performing economy within the USA and the 19th best performing economy globally. The Czech delegation visited the Miami Venture Hive business incubator where it had the opportunity to talk about effective support for small technology firms and start-ups. The Miami accelerator provides fresh entrepreneurs with, for instance, seed capital, offices, equipment and consulting services.
