Statement of the Czech Prime Minister on the wish of the minister of foreign affairs of Luxembourg Jean Asselborn to expell Hungary from the EU

The discussion these days is focused on the future of the European Union. We need to preserve our rational approach, unity, and focus on common topics. Europe must ensure the safety and prosperity of its citizens and maintain its competitiveness. Further raising of the barriers and calls for exclusion of Member States is, in my opinion, nonsense. In June, all EU leaders, me included, unanimously agreed on the continuation of the European cooperation as EU27. And nothing has changed. We will not be creating Unions within the Union nor excluding anyone. Europe must cooperate and stay coherent.
