Prime Minister Sobotka and Swedish Prime Minister Löfven Will Negotiate the Cooperation of Countries in the Field of Economy and Energetics

The Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka is going to visit the Swedish Kingdom on 3 and 4 November 2016. The topic of negotiations with the Swedish Prime Minister, Stefan Löfven, and other representatives will be mainly the Czech-Swedish bilateral cooperation in the field of economy and energetics.

The Prime Minister Sobotka will negotiate with his counterpart Löfven the support of economic contacts between the Swedish Kingdom and Czech Republic, mainly in innovative fields and digital industry, cooperation in energetics, defense and security cooperation focused on the defense industry or regional cooperation between the Visegrad Group and Nordic-Baltic Eight (NB8). The topics of the prime ministers´ meeting will be also the current European and foreign issues.

Bohuslav Sobotka stated: “The Czech-Swedish relationships have developed successfully in many fields such as energetics or defense industry. We find many common topics also in the support of human rights and democracy in the third countries, e.g. in countries of the Eastern Partnership. We are interested in further deepening of our cooperation with Sweden at a bilateral level as well as within the European Union”.

When travelling to Sweden, the Prime Minister will be accompanied by company representatives from the sphere of energetics, metallurgy and consecutive engineering branches with a high innovative potential. The enterprisers will take part in the Czech-Sweden seminar focused on the energetic market and smart cities. During the two-day program in Sweden, the Prime Minister will meet also the representatives of the local Czech community. The Prime Minister of the Czech Republic visited the Swedish Kingdom last in June 2009.
